The cave of wonders Uguobo10

The pack live in a cave near the Loch Ness lake itself. The cave lies high into the mountains where a path leads from the cave to the lake itself. Wolves can see nearly all, if not all, of the lake, and some of the other areas of land such as hunting grounds, den. Inside the cave and around would actually be very warm because of the fire magic of Memphis, and if he could find such a cave, perhaps one with a pool that he can "peer" into to faintly see some things such as thoughts, dreams of others, what others are doing. The location would be that it was high enough for regular wolves to spy on the land, nobody would really notice the cave, and the closer to the moon they are, the more powerful Memphis is

Tic

Inside of a dimly lit cave was a scruffy, white wolf that went by the name 'Tic'. Originally his days were spent inside of a crate. He spent day in and day out inside of a crate being experimented on by a crazed alchemist. Though, Tic, or W6 MC as he was numbered back the days, often lived in his life in a daze. He barely remembered what happened to him back in the crate as the days tended to blur and turn into one big spur of days. However, Tic now lived his days playing with the pups and causing all sorts of troubles with his partner in crime, Ginger.

The white male slowly crept up a slanted rock's edge as though he was part of a mission impossible movie, he even hummed the theme song to himself. Don't ask how he knows it, Tic has a weird way and knowing things even though it's existence has still not created. It was something that the alchemist had done to his brain. He was now forever wired to god knows how many theme songs and quotes.

“Psst, Tic to Orange. Tic repeats. Tic to Orange, the bird is leaving the nest”He whispered as the information was secret, but said it loud enough for the whole cave to hear. Not the smartest light bulb. Their mission for the day was to get Tic to fly. It was a mission that was normally issued to the pair every other day. It was one that was destined to fail and be repeated. However, the pair never gave up. Tic was far too stupid to understand and Ginger was still a pup, dreams and wishes were reality to her. What sort of friend would she be if she didn't believe that he could fly? Tic and Ginger were always together. There wasn't a moment when the two were not together. Together they were called 'Tic-Tac Orange'. However, no one in the pack called them that. The pair had come up with their nick-name together. Wasn't that cheating?

The wolf continued to climb the rock until he reached it's edge that loomed over the large water pool that was located in the cave. He peered over the edge and looked into the blue water below. “Tic will learn to fly today. Tic will! Go away water. No wet Tic today!” He sternly told the water. The water did not reply. He stood over the edge and puffed out his chest. Tic was going to fly. Today was the day. He just knew it. With that thought, he took a few steps back before charging and leaping into the air, spreading his wings.

“Tic believes he can fly~ Tic believes Tic can touch the sky~!” He sang as he soared through the air. However, the momentum of his jump soon ended and Tic fell down from the sky and smashed into the pool below. A huge splash rippled through the cave and splashed anyone who was near the pool.  He swam sloppily to the surface and bobbed up and down. “Orange? Did Tic fly? Orange?” He called out as he looked around. She was no where in sight. The white male had failed to notice that he had almost landed on his dear friend.

Stirring from a deep, soporific slumber beside the still waters of save, Frelser awoke form his long rest. A pair of reflective blue eyes are revealed to the world, and the darkness of sleep is done away with. A low yawn, which ends high-pitched sound, perfectly accompanies the long stretch of his long, long front legs and arching back.  His eyes took a moment to adjust to the light of cave as he stood, tall and proud, his dark blue fur becomes unpressed from being pressed between his own body and the cave floor.

Taking small strides, he moved to the pool’s edges to look into the water’s surface, and back at his own murky reflection. It was like every other time he woke up from one of his frequent naps, the first thing that his eye was drawn to is the small, but unmissable dark pink scratch that had been forever etched into his skin. He turned his eye from his eternal wound and looked at the rest of his face. His features are young but the harshness of his upbringing and the litter of tragedies that have spread themselves out across the prehistoric creature’s life span. He bowed his head down towards the water and whispers “Thank the goddess for the waters and air. Thank the god for fire and earth”

He cast his eyes towards the entrance of the cave, his shared home, the light flooding his eyes and illuminating his heightened sight, and the rays continue to recharge his other heightened senses. But as he looked to the small scrap of sky that he could gaze into, a strange sensation beagn apparent in his gut and took hold and cemented itself, but refused to so much as hint as to what message it brings. He turned his long gaze back to the pool, but it also refused him the answers he wanted.  “Today...something begins...but what I cannot say”

Colleen opened her eyes groggily from where she was lying, at the front of the cave, her side leaning against the cave wall away from the others. The bright sunlight shone into her blue eyes and she huffed in annoyance as the bright light greeted her eyes, it would normally hurt for a wolf who had just woke up to get sun shone right in their eyes, but nope, not her. It was just an annoyance to her whatever view she took upon it.

Colleen huffed again and twitched the tip of her tail, there was nothing to do, no orders to carry out at all. She was so bored! And she certainly wasn’t going to converse with the others, she wasn’t the most sociable wolf, she didn’t particularly want to be sociable. She didn’t particularly like others, either way, she only joined because she was fed up of travelling, plus, how much further North could you go? Colleen was born in the very South, near the sea and she had travelled all that way to where she was now. Four and a half years wasn’t that long, but to Colleen it felt like an eternity.

“Tic will learn to fly today. Tic will! Go away water. No wet Tic today!”

Colleen let out a groan and lifted her head and looked over her shoulder at the white wolf. Colleen raised an eyebrow. Colleen hadn’t known Tic long and hadn’t really spoken to him, but from what she saw…he was an utter idiot. The black female watched as he leapt of the ledge with his wings spread.

“Waiiiit for it…” she murmured to herself as she watched him. “Aaaaand splash,” she finished off as he landed in the pool. She rolled her eyes as the water splashed everywhere, luckily she wasn’t near the pool. “Tch…Moron,” she huffed to herself before turning her head back to face forwards. She couldn’t believe that she had ended up in a pack with a bunch of idiots…But the leader was very persuasive in letting her join, she may as well stay.

Only the disturbance of a few pebbles announced the arrival of Memphis. His paws practically glided over the ground, and a look of serenity and calm was worn upon his face. He only stopped when he heard a large SPLASH, and curious for only a second, realized it was Tic once again attempting to fly when he heard the flap of wings. Memphis snorted, then shook his head. Sometimes he had to remind himself that the poor fellow would be able to fly should he find a proper magic or medical source to fix his wings. If not, then, well, at least he was entertainment for however long he was around.

He observed the wolves of his pack, and merely grunted in response. They were lax, when they should be fighting. However, he knew that it was not the time to strike. Not yet. Not until when the opportunity is at it's best. Until then, the others would have to wait. His ears twitched a bit when he heard someone scoff, then turned to look at Colleen. Memphis chuckled at her attitude; something must have made this wolf terribly bitter, and for that, he was thankful, for the spiteful ones always outlived everyone for some odd reason. What's more, she was among his most prized wolves. Sure, she didn't have some mythical aura or some super speed, but what she did have was immunity to pain.

He knew anyone was dangerous when they were bored, as the more bored they are, the more unruly. So, Memphis approached the scarred black-and-white wolf and sat down before her, looking down with a carefully crafted face of genuine curiosity. "Something troubles you. Perhaps I can alleviate your problem?" he said, ears flickering about. Sometimes it was hard to keep a genuine face, but others, it was easy when it came to females. Memphis had a strict rule to himself to never treat females the way he did males; in his eyes, they were the innocent, the mothers who would raise pups, the ones who brought beauty unto this earth. In fact, females were the only ones he ever let go - most of the time - if they didn't wish to join his pack.

"Or," he added, "would you rather face this problem alone? I have other duties to attend to if this is the case," Memphis said. He shifted his paws in a motion of getting up to stand, as a sort of question in response to his first.

Manasseh watched the flying adventures of Tic from a corner, flexing his own wings. He liked Tic. Even though the wolf acted as if he was younger than ginger, he was still nice and pleasant to be around. Manasseh hung out with him and Ginger from time to time, though mostly he was on his own.

Tic might have been able to make a best friend, but he couldn't fly. Technically, neither could Manny; he was still learning. But he practiced at least twice a day, usually more than that because he never had anything better to do. He was always bored, stuck in this cave.

He stopped flexing his wings, as they were warmed up. Manny could swear he felt the growing muscles. Trotting out onto his 'runway' - a long strip  of flat stone with a drop halfway down - he gave his wings one last ostentatious stretch before taking a gulp of air and breaking into a run.

"Come on, faster..." he muttered, paws skimming over the rock. It had hurt to constantly be on stone, but running back and forth had quickly hardened his pads. Pushing his muscles as hard as they would go, spreading his wings out like a sail, he made sure to imagine Charles running beside him, visible only in the corner of his eye.

Then, the drop approached, merely a three foot precipice from the smooth stone to more smooth stone below. When Manny reached it, he pushed off with his hind legs, catapulting himself... about four feet. Flapping his wings awkwardly, Howie managed to skim just above the ground for about twenty feet before his own weight became too much and he landed, skidding down the stone.

He shook himself off and scowled. Rats! He hadn't made it an inch farther than he had that morning. Frustrated, he jumped straight into the air in an attempt to hover, managing to do so for only a few seconds before crashing. A second attempt, and a third, only brought the same results, and by then his wings started to burn.

"I give up for now," he sulked quietly to himself - or rather, to Charles. Instead he looked around the pack. Tic was soaking wet, and with Ginger as usual. Freiser was talking to water or something. Colleen (Manasseh was positive that Colleen hated his guts) was scowling at the world while Memphis was murmuring something to her. Manny glanced away from the latter, unnerved by him as usual, and tried flapping some more.

Colleen blinked her eyes lazily and looked out of the cave and looked down at the loch. Despite being born in the far South, she had heard stories of a monster that lived in a large lake far to the North. Through her travels she had learned to call lakes ‘lochs’, though she often referred to them as lakes anyway. Since arriving she had spent most of her time gazing down at the blue water, it calmed her down somewhat and the curious wolf which was buried within her wanted to see if this was the loch where that monster dwelled. As someone sat down in front of her, she was about to snap at them to leave her alone before she noticed the blue markings.

“Something troubles you. perhaps I can alleviate your problem?” “Or, would you rather face this problem alone? I have other duties to attend to if this is the case.”

Her fur fluffed up in surprise and slight embarrassment at being caught off guard like that.  She scrambled into a sitting position as she looked at the leader of the pack. “Sorry, Sir,” she apologised. And she flicked her tail uncertainly, she didn’t want to bother him, but he had taken the time to ask about her, though her problem was rather petty. “I do not wish to trouble you, Sir, but…it’s just so boring around here.” She was being polite, she sincerely hoped none of the others thought that if they came over and tried to talk to her that she’d be polite to them, she certainly wouldn’t. There were a select few she was polite to, and those were wolves she liked, which were rare, and those of higher rank than her. “Is there anything you need done that I could help with?” she asked, slightly hesitant though. Despite being a spiteful wolf she was prone to hesitance when asking things no matter how little.

Out of the corner of her eyes she noticed the other winged wolf in the pack trying to fly too. Colleen watched as he jumped into the air, seemed to fly for a moment or two, then landed on the ground. ‘Really?’ she thought to herself. ‘Can no one with wings fly around here?

“Sorry for bothering you with my troubles, Sir,” she returned all her attention back to her leader rather than having some of it focused on the other complete morons in this pack.

Avalon

Avalon watched as Tic tried yet again to fly. She knew what was going to happen, but apparently, he didn't know and didn't care. He rambled back and fourth with Ginger, his best friend. She was a cute little orange pup, and full of personality. They had arrived together, and were absolutely inseparable. The pup had just as much faith in his flight as he did. He called her 'Orange,' because he wasn't good with names. She couldn't remember what Tic called her, but she thought it had something the do with her fur. She watched the mad wolf take a few paces back. There she went, recalling facts again. She couldn't help herself, she didn't know much, but she couldn't afford to forget any of what she did know.

“Tic will learn to fly today. Tic will! Go away water. No wet Tic today!” he shrieked before charging off the ledge.

The raggedy white wolf stretched his messy wings. For a few seconds, he glided above the water, slowly arching down. Avalon could see what was coming already. She couldn't help but start to giggle as she watched it unfold. A split second later, Tic went plummeting down into the pool below. A huge wave of water came crashing down on her and she let out a squeak of surprise. Nose crinkled distastefully, she shook the chilly cave water from her pelt.

Tic bobbed up and called out, “Orange? Did Tic fly? Orange?”

Avalon had lost sight of Ginger in the confusion. A moment later, her eyes focused on the orange pup. Tic had nearly smashed her in his vain flight attempt, but 'nearly' was better than 'did.' He just didn't seem to understand that he just couldn't fly. At first, she had actually believed that he could fly. Now, she knew that his wings were damaged and he was unable to fly. It was sad, to her, to think that his mind was not like everybody else's. He didn't seem to be able to learn. While Avalon didn't know much yet, she was glad that she could still learn more.

Suddenly, a stunningly sharp pain shot through her left side. She staggered to the side and sucked in a quick breath. A gasp escaped her lips and she shut her eyes tight. Dizziness start to take over. She stumbled over her own paws and whined and the searing pain. She hated it when this happened. At least this time, she was able to stay on her feet. Ever since taking an arrow in the side, these episodes had been happening. Her body was raked by a mild spasm for a few moments, and then the pain increased. It was in these rare moments of vulnerability that she wished she had someone to comfort and protect her. Someone to promise her that everything was going to be okay. Someone to stand her up when she fell down. She had had it once, but that was all she could recollect.

A soft smile graced his lips as they curved upwards towards the startled wolf. He nodded once, then shifted to properly sit. "Yes, I know that days are dull, but you must be patient. It is not yet time, and until then, one would have to bide their time with useful activities," he said, looking around and motioning towards the others. "For example, the other  winged one is slowly but surely learning to fly," Memphis said, eyes still gazing. He caught the look the other gave him before turning away, and oh so slightly, his eyes narrowed in suspicion. Did this wolf not trust him? This wouldn't do, he needed to reinforce the loyalty of his pack members. "Yet he cannot, but when the day comes that he can, then he shall be quite the warrior, no?"

His head turned back to look at her with a patient look. "Perhaps you can sharpen your skills as well? It will always come in handy for the future, be it fighting for this pack or for yourself," he added, a flash in his eyes hinting at something before it was once again clouded. Memphis was no longer smiling, but his face was merely blank; it was a puzzling expression, as it completely hid any emotions.

However, his head turned when he heard a pained gasp. Looking to the source, he saw it was Avalon, his little fighter. He visibly narrowed his eyes in concern for the health of her. He never liked her episodes, as it one day could become bad enough that she would no longer have any use. He turned to look back at Colleen. "I know you are not the most social wolf, but may you go over to Avalon and check if she is well? It may be one of her worse episodes. If she is fine, you do not have to report back, but I have a private task for you. Scout out the land and learn it's pathways, caves, lakes, rivers, anything and everything of interest that is tactile and useful. If you need a partner, then come speak with me, and I shall assign you one. Understood?" He gave the order as firmly as he could without it sounding harsh. "Now, if you may excuse me, I have another wolf to tend to," he said, then stood and turned, but not before adding, "It was not a trouble, I assure you, and good luck."

From there, he walked on over to Manasseh, an award winning smile on his face and body language screaming that he wasn't planning on being hostile. Despite that, Memphis was beginning to be wary of this one; once he learned how to fly, then what would happen? Would he betray Memphis? Would he fly away, alerting his enemies of his whereabouts? Would he have to eradicate the winged beast before it was too late? A thousand thoughts raced through his head, nearly all caused by the panic of having a traitor who could take to the winds, but Memphis still remained outwardly calm, not wanting to startle the wolf.

"Hello Manasseh, I see you are once again taking flight, but I noticed your cessation," he said, stopping before the wolf calmly. "I know I myself cannot fly, but by observing birds, I think I have the gist of it, as one would say. A tip; do the same, and observe the patterns and the way the wings of birds move. Then you will be able to fly sooner than you would have learning on your own, no?" he claimed, another smile on.

Oh yes, the moment he detects the wolf wanting to flee, he will have to dispose of the traitor.

Ginger

Ginger bounced through the cave with buckets of energy. It was like she didn't even need sleep, and when she had woken up, she had stretched, before her form became buzzing with energy and excitement of a new day. Tic Tac was nowhere to be seen, but she knew what he was going to do. They'd planned their mission and it was being set into action as Ginger bounded towards to pool within the cave with a grin. She looked up and beat her fluffy orange tails against the ground in happiness as she could see Tic in the opening. Lifting her body up, she pawed the air in a cute manner and grinned, “Tic Tac!”

“Psst, Tic to Orange. Tic repeats. Tic to Orange, the bird is leaving the nest”

Her eyes brightened and she wiggled her butt as she watched her best friend jump and sing. She giggled and bounced as she watched him  'fly' “Tic's flying! Tic's flying” Ginger exclaimed with pride as she grinned at his falling form.

She was still a young pup; she loved to see the good in people and make them happy. Though she could see that he was about to fall in the water from his flight and she upon impulse, she immediately jumped right in before he hit the water.

“I'll save you!” the orange pup exlaimed as her body bobbed in the water, but her voice still rang clear and determined as she floated in the water. However, upon Tic's splashing impact, it caused Ginger to sink under the weight of her best friend.

Her eyes opened in the water and she took it with ease. Even though Ginger struggled for a moment under Tic's weight, she took it as an adventure, before she climbed her way up Tic's body and onto his head. With a moment of perching herself on his head, she gave him a lick and nodded at his question, “Tic flew! Tic flew really well! I'm proud of you, Tic Tac” Ginger smiled at him before she jumped from his head and back into the water. From her position, she doggy paddled towards the edge of the pool and used her three tails to help her move, though there was no synchronised movement, she simply just flapped her tails sloppily under the water to propel her forward with a happy smile on her face, despite being soaked.

Her little orange head broke the surface to be right under Frelser's gaze and she give him the happiest grin ever. Not that it was much different from any other smile Ginger gave; she was a happy pup and always liked smiling to any of the wolves, even if they didn't smile back, “Hiya Frelly!” She exclaimed in excitement at more of the pack waking up. Her body floated to the surface and her tails splashed as they beat the water with excitement as she looked up at one of the members. She liked to give nicknames to all of the members, and so Frelser, was Frelly in Ginger's mind.

“Did you see Tic Tac fly?” She asked innocently, “I thought he looked amazing!” Ginger smiled back at Tic before she turned and nodded to Frelly. She latched her paws on the edge of the pool and struggled a little bit to climb up and onto the ground. Though after some effort she managed to get up and shake her whole wet form, managing to wet the wolves in the surrounding area. She gave a little giggle as her fur poofed out from being shook and grinned as she sat next to Frelly, her tails beating the ground at alternating times.

"Perhaps you can sharpen your skills as well? It will always come in handy for the future, be it fighting for this pack or for yourself,"

Ginger's ears perked as she caught the last sentence and gasped. She got up and bounced towards her Alpha and Colleen. She bounced on her paws and grinned, “I can fight! Wanna see? Wanna see?” Ginger exclaimed once again as she pawed at Colleeen and grinned at Memphis. “I can take you on! Come at me!”

Ginger had a little habit of challenging wolves that she couldn't fight. It was just in her soul to try and show off, though she didn't actually want a fight. What she wanted was to be seen as strong, and with challenging everyone, she thought she was. She liked to play games, and in a way, this was one of them. So with a grin she squared off with her Alpha as her tails waved in the air and her face looked determined. She never did know how to pick her battles.

The greyish pelted wolf lay watching the ginger pup and her crazy friend. He tried to fly every single day, leaping into the water. Every time he failed. When is he going to learn he can't fly! He's wings are far too damaged! she grumbled her herself, shifting her head to look away from the pair as they swam out of the pool. In a way she envied them though. They went swimming everyday. She couldn't do that as she didn't know how to swim. The female had tried a few times but it hadn't gone very well and would have drowned too had it not been for the gills in her neck. For some unknown reason she just couldn't get swimming right.

Shrugging it off she, let out a huff. Glancing over at their leader, head still on the ground, she saw him talking with. He told her to go scouting after checking on one of the other wolves. Calista was glad she didn't have to go see if another wolf was ok. She didn't much like having to interact with others. The male then went to speak with the other winged one, the one who had much more potential to get off the ground. She wondered what it must be like to fly, she sure wouldn't stick around if she had wings. I'd find myself a cave high on a cliff where no one could get to me and only come out to go hunting. No wolves to worry about then.

With a sigh she heaved herself to her paws and walked over to the pond. Lapping up the water she was grateful it was there as it meant she didn't have to go too far to get her first drink in the morning. A very good thing for one who need an almost constant supply of water, getting up in the night to satisfy her thirst. Sitting back next to the water she wondered what was going to happen that day.

“Hiya Frelly”

Amused by the excited nature of Ginger watching her friend Tic attempt of flying, and emerging from the pool in a such a manner, Frelser returning the greeting, smiling back, “Hello Ginger, good morning to you" He didn’t mind the nickname that was given to him by Ginger, he was aware that his name was sometime tricky to say or remember correctly and thus was happy with any variation of his name. In fact, it amused him greatly whenever someone tried to address him by his name and mispronounced it.

“Did you see Tic fly?”  “I thought it looked amazing!”

Frelser moved his look over towards to Tic, “I did, it was very impressive”. Despite not having long woken up, Frelser felt it important to be friendly and welcoming with everyone, especially since tensions at the time seemed to be at a high. Frelser turned back to Ginger once again, but turned just in time to see her rush over to the Alpha and Colleen, speaking of combat.

Frelser looked about at the pack once again, observing all that he could and he could sense the boredom and frustration in them. But, at least in his experience, untreated boredom and unvented frustration are the breeding grounds of bad and possibly dangerous choices. Frelser decided to lay down once more at the water’s edge, staring into the reflective surface, keeping his large ears perked up and listening to all that was going on around him. He reminded himself to be careful and cautious in the near future.

Seraphina lurked around the cave, for the most part keeping to herself. It was not until she noticed that Tic was yet again attempting to fly, even though everyone knew that it wasn't going to happen. Her ghostly green eyes narrowed as she strode silently up to the wolves that had gathered around him. "Tic," she growled, looking down with unmasked distaste in her soulless eyes. "I would suggest not trying that again," she commented harshly before sweeping passed them.

A slight trail of smog followed after her and billowed around the small female's paws when she stopped suddenly and looked back at the more carefree wolves. "You will never fly again, Tic," she hissed. "There is no one watching over and preparing blessings for the scum of the earth, so wipe away those dreams before you hurt yourself and those around you."

Some might call her a monster for stepping on the peppy male's dreams like that, but Seraphina knew better. Dreams were for the weak. They got in the way of seeing the reality of the cruel world around them in the same way that looking back to the past did. Some were bothered by the fact that she had no memory of her years before she woke up in her current condition. She didn't care. Seraphina also didn't care that she had laughed in the face of the blinding female who had seemed so certain that she was her mother.

"Come back home" she had pleaded. What home? Seraphine had known of no home at that time. Scratch that, she knew of one thing - a powerful wind. The one that was always blowing coldly over her when she thought that she was alone. Assuming that the legends were right, it was the ghost of a memory of how she had died.

How funny; a ghost of a memory for a ghost of a wolf. Whatever misgivings the pack had for her, Seraphina was either oblivious to, or simply didn't care. Really, she was harsh because she cared. They just didn't see it. So, with her slender tail swaying slowly behind her, she turned away from Tic and the others and went to stand in the mouth of the cave.

What a wonderful world she thought sarcastically. Soon, it would all be theirs.

Tic

“Tic flew! Tic flew really well! I'm proud of you, Tic Tac”

Tic continued to look around for his little ginger companion, even when she was on top of his head. He gave a light giggled as she placed a kiss upon his head. “Tic is the master of flying!” He boasted as Ginger used him as a diving board. He quickly paddled after the female with his messy doggy paddle before scrambling back onto the rocky land. Tic liked the cave. It was warm, had a nice view, had lots of wolves inside, it was pretty and best of all it came with a pool. Tic and Ginger often spent many days swimming around in the pool. It was something that they both enjoyed as the others didn't trust them with major tasks. Tic knew that something was brewing in, but he didn't care. The pool was way more fun than stupid duties.

“Did you see Tic fly?”  “I thought it looked amazing!”
“I did, it was very impressive”.

“D'aww thank you, Franky. Tic has been trying very hard.” He smiled as he gave the wolf one giant lick across the face, leaving a trail on saliva on his muzzle. Tic had a little trouble remembering the names of his pack mates, though they also seemed to have a problem remembering his name too. Many wolves did, and not just the ones from his pack, but others he had met on his journey. They called him 'Annoying', 'stupid' and 'bird-brain', so in turn he called everyone different names. and it really did help him remember them. However, Frelser was a wolf that Tic would never remember, what nickname he gave him. So every time he met the large male, Tic would call him a different name each time. Today he was Frank, yesterday he was Steve and tomorrow he may be Jerry. Though, he did not mean to forget, nor did he remember forgetting. He actually thought that his name was Frank.

"Tic," "I would suggest not trying that again," . "You will never fly again, Tic," she hissed. "There is no one watching over and preparing blessings for the scum of the earth, so wipe away those dreams before you hurt yourself and those around you."

“Tic isn't scum. Tic is Tic and will always be Tic. And Tic does too have someone watching over him. Orange is always watching over Tic.” He chirped back with the happiest voice that anyone could have. “Silly 'Queenie Meanie'” He tutted with a grin that stretched to his eyes. He gave the female a huge lick, just like did with Frelser. “ No it can't be true. I could fly if I wanted to, like a bird in the sky, I believe I can fly, why I'd fly~ “ He sang reached over to the female with his front legs held out high, prepared for the hug that he was going to give to the female. He wrapped his scruffy white legs around her and hugged her tightly. However, his kindness often led to something dangerous or silly happening. In this case Tic had accidentally put too much force into his hug and had toppled both himself and Seraphina into the pool. A massive splash rippled from them as they both crashed into the pool.

Ginger

“Hello Ginger, good morning to you" “I did, it was very impressive”

Ginger giggled and grinned at Frelly's friendliness and she nodded eagerly to his compliment. She pawed at Colleen's muzzle and smiled before going back over to Frelser,“I'll be back for some fighting Cauliflower!”

She bounded away from Memphis and Colleen before she attempted to jump up to try and give Frelser a kiss, though she wasn't tall enough and so she stopped and hummed to herself as she thought of a different plan. Her tails wagged at different times as she pulled the cutest thinking face. Her big brown eyes were narrowed in focused thought as she looked at Fresler until an idea popped into her head.

Her eyes brightened as her mouth formed an circle, “Oh! Oh! I got it!” She exclaimed before putting her plan into action. She tried to balance on her hind legs to reach up to Frelsers face and give him a lick, just as Tic did. Though he was a big wolf and Ginger was still a pup who was having some difficulty trying to reach his head. She soon realised that she wasn't big enough...but did that stop her? What do you think?

Instead she opted to try and paw at him happily. Though it wasn't just one paw at Freslers body, she continuously pawed at him and gave a rough giggle. (Ginger didn't exactly understand the term, subtle) Her voice was always bubbly and high pitched, but it had a unique gravelly quality to it which made her voice definitely unique...and most likely annoying to the more somber wolves, but she didn't care...or more likely she didn't notice. She always thought her voice suited her 'rough and tough' personality, despite the fact that she was all bark and barely any bite. The only biting she would do was nibbling on someone's ear to show her fake dominance. Though it wasn't fake in her eyes, she truly felt strong when she could do that, not realising that some wolves would let her win because she was a pup.

Her wagging tails unbalanced her little body as she continued to speedily paw at Frelser with excitement and happiness, “I like you, Frelly. You're nice.” Ginger grinned before her wagging tails caused her to fall over with an 'oof'. Though she immediately jumped up on all fours and bounced around Frelser, “Who was that?! Let me at ya!” Ginger questioned as she mistook her unbalanced moment for someone knocking her over. A ginger bit of fluff caught her eyes and she was set into action as she ran around in circles to catch any one of her tails.

"Tic," "I would suggest not trying that again," . "You will never fly again, Tic," she hissed. "There is no one watching over and preparing blessings for the scum of the earth, so wipe away those dreams before you hurt yourself and those around you."

She stopped her running and wobbled a little bit dizzy from spinning in circles as she heard Seraphina's words. Ginger pouted as she sat down next to Frelly, “Nuh uh Seryphina! Your fog's just got in your eyes!” she exclaimed as she smiled at the foggy female, “He did fly, you just couldn't see it.” Ginger nodded with affirmation as she grinned at the wolf.

Orange is always watching over Tic.”

Once again, Ginger's eyes brightened and she sat up straight with a proud and happy look on her face, “Yep! I'm a superhero and can save the day with my great strength! Tic Tac is my sidekick that I love and protect.”

The orange pup giggled when Tic wrapped his paws around Seraphina and pulled her into the water with a splash, “Oh! Oh! I wanna join!” Ginger shouted as she crawled up Frelser's back and ran on top of his head like she did for Tic. She gave him a little lick and giggle before jumping into the water, “Geronmiooooo~” She shouted as she jumped through the air before creating a little splash as she hit the water.

Manasseh let his wings flop to the ground, an action which made him look like a giant, furry moth. He sighed, watching Tic get yelled at by Seraphena for his most recent attempt at flying. Nobody ever payed attention to Manny's trying to learn to fly. He didn't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing.

He started flapping his wings some more. They were twenty times stronger than they were when the gypsy had first cursed him, and the sooner he could fly, the sooner everyone would pay attention to him. He just had to practice obsessively until that happened.

Suddenly, he happened to see Memphis out of the corner of his eye. The leader was approaching! Manasseh instantly folded his wings tightly, looking away with flattened ears. The only one who's attention didn't crave was Memphis, but here Memphis came in all his terrifying glory. If Manny could fly, he would disappear in an instant, but obviously that wasn't an option.

"Hello Manasseh," the alpha said, calmly. Manny looked at him obediently. I see you are once again taking flight, but I noticed your cessation."

Manny blinked and straightened up. Memphis had noticed him training? Finally!

The leader continued. "I know I myself cannot fly, but by observing birds, I think I have the gist of it, as one would say. A tip; do the same, and observe the patterns and the way the wings of birds move. Then you will be able to fly sooner than you would have learning on your own, no?"

Manasseh blinked, his eyes flicking towards the mouth of the cave and the open sky beyond. Well, duh! Why hadn't he thought of that before! The young wolf beamed, the new idea sending a thrill of new hope down his spine. That would totally work. Maybe Memphis wasn't such a creep after all.

"Thank you, sir!" he squeaked eagerly, jumping to his paws. "That's a great idea, sir! I'll try it now!"

Without waiting for an answer, he scrabbled across the rocky cave toward the mouth and hunched at the opening, staring out at the sky.

This is where he sat for over an hour. He only saw a few birds, but he tried to catch every detail, such as the way they folded their legs against their bellies, and the way they held their heads, and the way their wings went in an almost circular motion instead of straight up and down. He noticed the way they caught air currents and managed to sail effortlessly; he practiced the motions on the ground, with his own wings. Eventually, though, he got bored and returned to the cave, feeling more tired than he usually did after a session.

Memphis rumbled, a sign of being pleased, when Manasseh perked up and ran outside. He knew by that expression that the winged one was having second thoughts about him. It was good, in his mind, as he thought that it was such a waste to kill someone so useful. He was yanked from his thoughts, however, when he noticed fog creeping at his paws. His beta, Seraphina, was nearby.

He rose to his feet and followed the fog to the source, finding the other wolves crowding around the loony wolf Tic. He sat and observed as Ginger played around with Fresler, Tic, and Seraphina. He knew that if it weren't for Ginger, Tic would be bothering him all day instead of his little companion, and for that he was thankful. Memphis knew that the little pup had a feisty attitude and had a "go-get-them" mindset, which was quite useful to give one strength. He has plans for Ginger to inherit the pack, although once she becomes older, she'll have to take up training with him alone. She was the youngest and healthiest pup he's encountered thus far that had a mythical touch, and perhaps, also the easiest to manipulate.

However, he will have to do something about Tic if he does not prove himself soon. A true leader does not waste time with the useless.

SPLASH!

Memphis was washed over with water when he realized Tic had embraced Seraphina, then pulled her in. To add insult to injury, he was once again sprayed when Ginger hopped along. His maw crinkled into a snarl, and a low growl emitted from his throat before he could help it. He knew the lot were idiots, but he never knew they were this bad! As quickly as it had appeared, his threatening posture was replaced with one of distaste. This he did not hide, but flaunted. Oh, how he hates getting wet. It reminded him too much of blood, but thankfully, it wasn't as sticky. Despite this, he hated how it made it that much easier to get coated in dirt and mud.

Ears flattening, he spoke up, loud enough for the boisterous duo to hear. "I am fully aware that I am not particularly loquacious, but I must admit, your aiming is admirable. Next time, do try to hit me again, will you? I always enjoy a good dampening upon my mood," he said, getting up and stalking away. Whether or not they knew he hated getting wet was trivial; he was wet, that was that, end of story.

When he came at the entrance of the cave, he looked down over the land, frowning. It was an excellent place to fall back on should future skirmishes fail, but it wasn't what he was expecting. It would have to do though. Memphis sighed, then looked to the sky and whispered, "Please give me your blessing Elizabeth, I am doing this for the sake of the world... And for your legacy to live on." He sat down, eyes searching the clouds for a sign that his old mentor and friend was listening. Once again, the clouds simply strolled along, silent and mocking.

"Tch," he said, looking back over the land with ears alert and muzzle curled in disgust. The more he gazed upon the area, the more he felt rage. Why did destiny favor this lot? Why did the spirits think them worthy, but not he? Memphis envied the others, and thought quietly that he'll prove himself worthy of their praise. Oh, he will, he will.

A wind picked up and ruffled his fur, tossing and turning it. He closed his eyes, and a serenity came over him; he listened to the whispers the wind gave him. Once it died down, his eyes snapped open with a gleeful grin on. Memphis stood up, looking to the sky once more, but this time, he was addressing someone else. "It seems, old friend, that you have introduced me to the others. I am ready; are your champions?"

He smirked, then turned and trotted back into the cave. "Wolves," he barked, "gather around! The wind has told me that it is time; Fate has granted the enemy a warning, and it is the only warning they shall receive, do you understand? This place has powers beyond belief, and soon, it shall be ours to aid in our cause!" He stopped, looking around. While they may not be the most impressive bunch of wolves, they were the ones that were the most loyal and stuck around; that was what he was looking for. He didn't care for the strongest, or the fastest, but if they were willing to stay and train to become the best, then they shall receive it.

"And remember, the wolf who has done most the most brilliant feats during the attack shall be rewarded handsomely," Memphis said. A little bribery wouldn't hurt. After all, it was motivation.

He looked around, a smile upon his face. It wasn't kind, nor cruel, but simply a pleased smile.

Seraphina should have known. She should have known better than to try to talk sensibly with Tic. Especially with Tic. The excitable male seemed to completely brush off what she had said, and even went so far to call her wrong. Sera muttered to herself irritably, but found herself being whisked from her perch by a wolf-hug from Tic.

"No!" she yelped, startled by the notion. But it was too late; her weight had shifted in a weird manner, and it would be next to impossible to regain her footing afterwards. And she didn't. Unable to redeem her composure, Sera flopped backwards into the lake, dragged by Tic's weight, and her own imbalance. The sound of the splash hit her ears, followed by the drumming noise of water moving against one's eardrums.

Seraphina flailed her limbs, trying to decipher which way was up and which way was down. Her lungs felt like they were going to burst, when finally her head broke the surface and she gasped in a mouthful of water. Coughing and spluttering, Sera swam for the shore and clumsily climbed out of the lake. Never before had she been so grateful to have her paws on a solid surface. The cream colored female shook out her fur after standing for a long while and attempting to catch her breath.

Turning her gaze to the grounded male, Sera leered. She couldn't get a solid enough breath without coughing, leaving her speechless and seething with anger.

Tic

Tic bobbed up from the water with a brilliant laugh attached to his voice. “Tic liked that very much.” He bellowed in a gut laugh. Tic enjoyed playing with his fellow pack mates, though most of them were really boring and stuck up. Tic made it his duty to cheer them up and make them smile. Though, when he finally managed to get them to smile, it didn't look right. He didn't understand why, but it always looked evil and sinister. Why couldn't they just smile and be happy?

Another giggled ripped through him as he saw his little orange friend re-surface. Her orange fur gleamed within the water, giving the impression of shining scales glowing on her body. He was starting to think that his friend was maybe a fish. She did spend all of her time in the water, swimming around with that tail of hers. But then, so did Tic. The two were always in the water. 'Maybe Tic is also a fish' The male thought. He quickly shook his head. It was impossible. How could they be fish? If anything, they were bunny rabbits. He was so sure of it. Or at least half rabbit, though Ginger was something else. A very unique animal. Tic had a knack for this sort of thing. He was very intelligent. “Orange is no gold fishy, Orange is a poof ball.” He chirped as he splashed at his playmate.

"I am fully aware that I am not particularly loquacious, but I must admit, your aiming isadmirable. Next time, do try to hit me again, will you? I always enjoy a good dampening upon my mood,"

“We should soak Mr.Grumpy more often.” He whispered to his little friend with a gleeful smile. “ He said he likes it.” Tic wanted the Alpha to like him, but whenever he alpha looked at him he always gave him this look. Tic didn't know what the look entailed, but he was sure that it was something good. Maybe Memphis thought that Tic was the best soldier. He did try very hard, and now his efforts were being rewarded with glares! Oh goodie! Or maybe it was something else. Maybe Memphis had fallen in love with the male. Oh dear. Tic was not sure what to say, but he knew that he had to tell the Alpha how he felt.

"Wolves,","gather around! The wind has told me that it is time; Fate has granted the enemy a warning, and it is the only warning they shall receive, do you understand? This place has powers beyond belief, and soon, it shall be ours to aid in our cause! "And remember, the wolf who has done most the most brilliant feats during the attack shall be rewarded handsomely,"

“Fate is naughty. Bad Fate.” Tic scorned at nothing. He didn't know what Fate looked like or whether they were invisible. He hoped not. He didn't want no Fate watching him when he slept. Santa was enough, he didn't need Fate judging him too. Though, he did wonder why Fate often visited the other pack. They were their enemy and they were going to get in their way. Tic knew that their plan needed the pack, but did he know the actual plan? No. He was not trusted with this sort of information, and rightly so. If Fate didn't tell the pack, then he would do it. Not out of betrayal, but out of stupidity. He could barely keep his big mouth shut and would tell the other pack all of their secrets.

The male was about to leave and teach the other pack a lesson, but quickly stopped. He still had to tell the Alpha how he felt. He scouted back around and sat next to the Alpha with a goofy grin. “ 'ello Mr.Grumpy.” He hated to do this, but he knew it needed to be done. “Tic thinks you are a pretty wolf, but Tic does not like Mr.Grumpy the way Mr.Grumpy likes Tic. Tic is very close to his rock friend.” He said as he bobbed his head towards the rock over by the rock pool. “Tic and the rock are getting very close, but he has not said anything to me. It's very one sided.” He admitted before giving the Alpha a giant lick on the cheek. “Maybe Mr.Grumpy and Queenie Meanie can become like Tic and rock, hmm?” He questioned as he looked over tot he soaking wet female before looking back at the male, wiggling his ears.

Frelser

Although he had intended to rest for a small while, a voice called out to him and robbed him of that chance.

“D’aww thank you, Franky. Tic has been trying very hard”

Frelser knew that despite the name of ‘Franky’ being said, that comment was directed him by Tic and that he should answer back. But as he drew in the breath to speak he was given a shock in the form of lick that was dragged across his face muzzle, leaving a slick trail of muzzle across his face, which Frelser quickly shook from his face. He didn’t mind Tic referred to him by a different name; or rather it had got to the point where he didn’t care anymore. Frelser recalled to mind how yesterday he had been known as Steve, which confused him a great deal at first but soon realised the intent of the calls of ‘Steve!’ echoing around the walls of the cave. So it appeared that today he would have to keep his ears open for ‘Frank’. Well atleast that sounded a little like his true name. He wondered who he would be known as tomorrow, perhaps Tom. Who knows? In fact, as Frelser steadied himself on his feet after having nearly fallen in the body of water in front of him, he wondered if even Tic knew and set a remind to himself to think on if Tic suffered from memory loss.

But as if the first surprise was not enough, another appeared directly in front of Frelser and tried to reach up and kiss him. This was Ginger, who had seemingly given up on reaching him and instead took to humming, her tails wagging behind as she went. The pup looked up at Frelser, thinking to herself, and feeling the effects of the silence, Frelser motion to speak, “Can I-?”

“Oh! Oh! I got it!”

Once again he was cut off from speaking. Before he had a chance to inquire what exactly Ginger was trying accomplish, she had moved onto her hind legs and tried to reach him yet again in an attempt to lick him. In a bid to help her, he lowered his head but even then his tall frame was making the job impossible. Ginger then returned to her feet and turned to pawing at his body, an act which he simply accepted, letting Ginger carry on with her ways.

“I like you, Frelly. You’re nice.”

“Glad to hear it Ginger, nice to have you as a friend” Frelser had meant what he said. He would have no problem living alone if the need arose, but he preferred being with the pack, it was where he felt safest, and while he had not formed the strongest of bonds with all those around him, he would certainly try to too. His mind was pulled away from his thoughts of how lucky he was to have such a home and pack as the one he had by Ginger falling suddenly to the ground and jumping back up almost instantly to face her invisible attacker who wasn’t there and so Frelser left her to chase her tails.
but was once again robbed of his chance by none another Ginger yet again climbing his body and leaping off his head and into the pool, planting a lick on his face as she went with a giggle.
“Geronimooooo~”

In fairness it was a terrific splash, but Memphis did not seem so impressed.

Frelser let his head follow the alpha’s movements toward the cave entrance by an unseen force, or perhaps a gut feeling. It was there that he saw Memphis looking out and listening to the world. In the time that he had know Memphis he had no idea how his mind worked, or what he was thinking, but given that he was allowed to become part of the pack, Frelser installed in him at least some trust, even if it was slightly forced. He tried to wonder what he might be thinking, or planning but there would be no need.

“Wolves, gather around! The wind has told me that it is time; Fate has granted the enemy a warning, and it is the only warning they shall receive, do you understand? This place has powers beyond belief, and soon, it shall be ours to aid in our cause!”

That familiar bad feeling reared its head to Frelser once again, but he stayed quiet and maintained a neutral expression.

“And remember, the wolf who has done the most brilliant feats during the attack shall be rewarded handsomely”

All Frelser hoped for was that this attack was over soon. Despite his appearance, he tried not to be a violent being. But he could not afford to look weak, and a good way of perhaps showing his strength, was by winning the prize”

Calista sighed as she lay, the activity of the other wolves going on around her. She thought of leaving the cave to get some peace. Tic and Ginger were just so noisy and they were getting on her nerves without even actually annoying her directly. The female gave a small groan, resting her leg over her face. For the umpteenth time she wondered why she had stuck around before realising that she did because she wasn't very apt at living on her own. Plus they did have an ample supply of water nearby....

The call of their leader caused the grey female to lift her head, looking towards him. It seemed they were finally going to take over the little pack nearby. Calista wasn't so thrilled with the idea of fighting but she did like the sound of a reward. Because of that she would do her best during this future fight.

Sitting up she wondered what the prize might be. Not wanting to talk to Memphis himself she wondered if one of the seconds might know. Seraphina seemed a little busy right then, choking on the water Tic had so kindly dumped her into. The crazy male had no idea how annoying the other wolves thought him to be. Looking for the other second she spotted the male laying down a little way from the others, watching from the shadows. She didn't particularly like the male (she didn't really like anyone) but she was going to talk with him anyway. So padding up to him she spoke, "Haytham, what's this prize that Memphis is talking about? Will it be good?" Sitting down, curling her tail around her, she glanced back over at their leader. Perhaps one day she would be able to live without having to be around crazies like those in this pack.

Haytham had been relaxing quietly in the shadows, seen and unseen from everyone's sights, it had been rather a specialty of his. He was quite happy on his lonesome in this pack of weird, mutilated, and strange creatures who had called themselves wolves. Most of then shared very little resemblance with himself, Haytham, a pure born European wolf. He gave a small sigh as he sat in the shadows watching those around him and what they were doing, in particular, Memphis, who was the self declared leader of this band.

Haytham who normally was power hungry was quite happy with his position as the beta, of this band, and was only here for the number of wolves that were here anyway. He needed them to get the land that this pack was on, and so that he could find what he was looking for, then he would abandon them as he had done to so many others. A small sly grin pursued its way to his muzzle.

"Haytham, what's this prize that Memphis is talking about? Will it be good?"

Haytham snapped to attention to see the water wolf that could not swim. Which was rather strange, but who wasn't in this guild. He looked to Calista as she spoke, and flicked his tail, mildly annoyed at her presence. He was happy on his own. He gave a grunt before answering her, "Its a wonderful prize Callista, but you'll have to wait and find out won't you?" he grinned slyly as he spoke.

“Yes, I know that days are full, but you must be patient. It is not yet time, and until then, one would have to bide their time with useful activities. For example, the other winged one is slowly but surely learning to fly. Yet he cannot, but when the day comes that he can, then he shall be quite the warrior, no? Perhaps you can sharpen your skills as well? It will always come in handy for the future, be it fighting for this pack or for yourself.”

Colleen watched him as he spoke to her and she twitched her tail slightly, uncertain of the task. At her age there wasn’t much she could do to improve her skills or learn anymore as certain methods were embedded in her mind and had been for the almost five years of her life, she was no young wolf that was certain. Then as her leaders expression changed into that emotionless one, a bit of an unnerving feeling wriggled into her heart and confusion entered her mind, not that it was evident in her forever stone-cold blue eyes that would fill with anger and annoyance from time to time.

“I can fight! Wanna see? Wanna see?”

The large female looked down to find the pup of the pack; Ginger looking up hyperactively at her with a grin on her face. A smirk spread across Colleen’s face and she raised one eyebrow, which was the closest thing others got to a sign of affection from her these days. “Oh, really now, deary?” Colleen couldn’t deny, she most definitely had a soft spot for the ginger pup and her heart and inner self battled with her reputation and outside personality to mother the pup and her eyes almost, almost let a gentle, soft look enter her eyes as Ginger pawed at her. It was a urge she had to mother pups ever since, well, then. It had crushed her that she wouldn’t have pups, it was bad enough that not long before…Owen, had been declared dead. His name was strange in her mind whenever she thought about him, and the rare times it rolled off her tongue and her heart clenched and twisted in a sickening way and ached afterwards. That was why she now pushed him to the back of her mind, where she kept Ava, Cameron, Adair, Duncan, Jackie, the pups she would never have and her parents.

“I know you are not the most social wolf, but may you go over to Avalon and check if she is well? It may be one of her worse episodes. If she is fine, you do not have to report back, but I have a private task for you. Scout out the land and learn its pathways, caves, lakes, rivers, anything and everything of interest that is tactile and useful. If you need a partner, then come speak to me, and I shall assign you one. Understood? Now, if you may excuse me, I have another wolf to attend to. It was not a trouble I assure you, and good luck.”

Colleen tried not to show her distaste at the fact of having to check up on the wolf who received seizures, one of the many contradictions of her personality and mind. Her mind and main personality despised wolves who weren‘t strong enough, but that little part of her that nagged at her constantly, her true self, said that she should pity and help these wolves. Overall however, she ignored it and despised them, waste of space in her mind. Then, she would never admit, her heart rose in excitement at the prospect of exploration. “Thank you for listening, Sir,” she dipped her head in respect. Colleen watched as her walked over to Manasseh, the other winged wolf, she rose to her feet and to her full height of being larger than the average male, turned her head and began stalking over to Avalon eyes fixed in a hard gaze as they always were, despite the wolf’s obvious torment. Colleen then flicked her ears and tail in recognition of Ginger’s goodbye. ‘Cauliflower? Really?’ she thought to herself with a slight eye roll. “Hey,” she muttered gruffly as she stalked the last paw steps over. “You alright?” Despite the obviousness, Avalon wasn’t, she wanted to show that she did not care.

The black and white wolf’s attention was then taken up by the massive splash that was heard. ‘Well, he’s in trouble,’ she thought as she saw that Tic had tried to give Seraphina a hug, which had resulted in that splash. Colleen let out an irritated huff and watched as the two surfaced, an unamused look on her face. Her ears then twitched forward and she looked up to see the black and blue form of Memphis. Colleen looked up at him and listened to what he had to say. Colleen couldn’t help the satisfied smile that spread across her features.

The female could tell that her presence irritated the wolf. She did not really care, however, as she would be out of his hair as soon as she got some answers. It wasn't like she was going to sit around and make small talk like so many other wolves did. That was just such a bore, she didn't care about how the others felt or what the liked or how the weather had been recently. She just plain didn't care.

When Haytham's reply came the female rolled her eyes, unamused at the male's sly response. "Well since you aren't telling me I can only believe that you don't actually know what it might be. That's ok, I know you don't know too much anyway." And so standing she flicked her tail in his face, adding to her insult. With smirk back at him she said offhandedly, "I shouldn't have expected much from a wolf yourself." She turned away from him, moving slowly waiting for his response if he would give one. If he didn't, well she could count herself pleased for insulting the pack's second without punishment.

Seraphina listened as Memphis gave his speech about Fate warning the pack inhabiting the lands that rightfully belonged to them. Her mouth curled into a sadistic smile as he spoke about claiming the power and rewards. For Sera, however, claiming the territory would be reward enough.

For some of the others, however, it seemed that they were not as keen on the attack as their leaders. So long as they did as they were told and remained loyal, Seraphina didn't care what misgivings they had. She wasn't there for them to like her. She was there to help keep them in line. Of course, it was hard to not like Memphis. Even for Sera, who loathed authority, it was easy to follow along with what he said. And, like her, Memphis seemed to loathe getting wet.

That was about the point that Tic began rambling. Again. He said something about a rock, and how their relationship was one sided. Seraphina was lost in all the words, but it seemed like Tic was saying something about a "Queenie Meanie" and a "Mr. Grumpy" being like himself and the rock or whatever. Sera leered in Tic's direction. Was he suggesting that the two hook up? Pfff she thought, hiding her derisive laughter. Like that would ever happen. She had heard Tic refer to her as Queenie Meanie before, so that left figuring out who this "Mr. Grumpy" was. Was it Memphis? Surely it wasn't one of the nicer wolves in the pack, like Fresler.

Sighing, Seraphina stopped trying to figure out what exactly Tic meant. His brain seemed to work at speeds that mirrored how fast those pesky cheetahs could run, and the process behind it all only made Seraphina dizzy. Stepping forth, she nodded to Memphis. "When do you suggest we make our move?" she inquired quietly. Might as well work out the details, right?

Mentioned: Tic, Memphis, Fresler
